Nabeel Rajab, the 2011 Ion Ratiu Democracy Award recipent was featured on NPR discussing the crackdown in Bahrain. Earlier this year, Bahrain was swept up in protests as the Arab Spring uprising spread. Atleast 35 people were killed, and a new human rights report commissioned by the Bahraini government detailed systemic abuse of those who were detained.
