Claudia Sheinbaum: What鈥檚 Next for US-Mexico Relations
On October 1, 2024 Mexico will inaugurate its next president, Claudia Sheinbaum, who will be the first woman to lead the country in its history. This moment of transition comes at a pivotal moment in the US-Mexico relationship, as trade between the two countries is at an all time high, and both face highly polarized political environments at home.
To help break down what a Sheinbaum administration will mean for bilateral relations, the Mexico Institute organized a roundtable discussion with former US and Mexican Ambassadors. This conversation explored how Claudia Sheinbaum鈥檚 proposed strategies on security, trade, migration, and Mexico鈥檚 political climate, will impact the US-Mexico relationship.
