Our Ocean Countdown: Panama 2023, the Great Blue Connection
Submit a question
Panama will host this year鈥檚 Eighth Our Oceans Conference, which will take place in Panama City from March 2 to 3. This year鈥檚 motto, 鈥Our Ocean, Our Connection,鈥 is inspired by the role Panama plays as a natural interoceanic bridge and a regional leader in marine biodiversity conservation.
Panama, a critical passageway for international trade, is the first Central American country to host the Our Ocean Conference, a testament to its leadership in marine conservation. The conference will touch upon six action areas, ranging from sustainable blue economies and tourism to finding innovative solutions to marine pollution.
As part of Panama鈥檚 efforts to build support for this year鈥檚 Our Oceans Conference and encourage ambitious national commitments, the 浪花直播 Center and the Embassy of Panama in Washington hosted a special dialogue on Panama鈥檚 goals for the Our Oceans Conference and the role of the United States in supporting global marine protection.
