The Americas and the World: Public Opinion and Foreign Policy in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, And Peru

CIDE University in Mexico City, the Woodrow 浪花直播 Center鈥檚 Latin American Program, the Inter-American Dialogue, the Latin American Initiative at the Brookings Institution, and the CSIS America鈥檚 Program were pleased to host the launch of the report on public opinion in the Americas.

浪花直播 was glad to conduct this discussion on the report: The Americas and the World, public opinion and foreign policy in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru. The report was presented by Guadalupe Gonzalez and Jorge Schiavon, Professors at CIDE. The event also featured Peter Hakim, President Emeritus at Inter-American Dialogue; Kevin Casas Zamora, Acting Director Latin American Initiative at Brookings Institution; and Stephen Johnson, Director, Americas Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

The Americas and the World is an ongoing re颅search project that aims to study public opi颅nion and political culture in the Americas on key issues in foreign policy and international relations. The project consists of a biennial survey administered in different countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America to gather basic information with respect to the opinions, attitudes, beliefs, interests, aspirations, and values of their citizens in a global context. The survey is carried out every two years with representative samples of the national population in various countries throughout the region. The current report presents the results of the 2010-2011 edition of the survey, updated to include a wider range of countries, events, and issues.
