Gender-based violence (GBV) affects one in three women worldwide, making it an urgent and important policy challenge. Using its global platform, the ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ Center is convening discussions not only on the ongoing crisis of GBV—made worse by the global COVID-19 pandemic—but also on the programs and policies that are beginning to make a difference.

Accessing Justice: Gender-Based Violence and the Rule of Law
In recognition of the need to explore more fully the connections between laws, policies and the persistence of gender-based violence, the ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ Center launched the project "Accessing Justice" to examine gender-based violence from a rule of law lens.
In 2020, in parallel with the UN campaign "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ Center hosted a series of events, publications, and podcasts to facilitate dialogue and understanding, not only of the ongoing crisis of GBV worldwide – made worse by the global pandemic, but also of the programs and policies that are beginning to make a difference.
ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ is proud to announce our newest interview series with members of the U.S. Congress, where we discuss ways in which Congress can further awareness, dialogue, and policy action to protect women from violence—including the Violence Against Women Act.
